International Initiatives
The International Initiatives Office (IIO) promotes the comprehensive internationalization of Towson University by advocating the integration of international perspectives into curriculum; providing leadership for curricular and professional programming; recruiting and serving international students and scholars, study abroad students, and English Language Center students; creating an inclusive campus environment; and developing a globally competent community.
The home of International at 韦德体育, the International Initiatives Office has 3 units serving the university and the local and global community:
- International Student and Scholar Services (ISSO), which ensures the retention, success and well-being of international students from over 90 countries and visiting scholars.
- Study Abroad and Away Office, which creates high impact educational experiences for all Towson University students to gain global perspectives through experiential learning in over 60 countries, and throughout the United States.
- The English Language Center (ELC), which provides innovative English language instruction and programming to students, many of whom go on to matriculate into Towson University programs.
